Starts a conversation on Fashion, Camera, Lights, make-up, catwalks and you’ll definitely become Keitumetse Mere‘s best friend. Since her days in pre-school, this has been her topics and she has been on Fashion runways.

Keitumetse is a model, cheerleader and a student of BSC Geography and computer science from the North- West University.

For the past six years, she has entered many other pageants and never won any. However, her perseverance kept her going and paid off at the end. After a year break from modelling and beauty pageants, she returned to compete in the 2014 pageants and was crowned the Face of Mahikeng 2014/2015 at same year she was crowned the second princess of NWU Mafikeng Campus.

She says being the Face of Mafikeng has changed her life for better.

“I’m now an ambassador of Mafikeng and I’m expected to walk and talk like a role model. I have learnt to be humble and to think for other people. I represent a community I can't afford to do anything that will disappoint. I mean it’s my responsibility to see to it that I carry out all the duties coming with this title as a positive role model”

I caught up with Keitumetse and ask her things you did not know about her...and burning to know. One thing that always captivates me is her humunity and wide great smile..

Three words to describe you...

Beauty, brains and confidence

Are you single or taken...?

Let's just say I'm not single

Your perfect romantic date?

Hahaha...I always wanted to do Mountain climbing. So a guy who will organise that will make me weak at knees. Being outdoors and doing something adventurous, doing something related to nature does it for me

What does beauty mean?

For me beauty means a good heart incorporated with brains. You may have a beautiful face or body but without a good heart and without brains then that means nothing. You may not have a beautiful face or a well-shaped body but as long as you are smart and genius to many then one can paint you as beautiful. I mean it’s the inner beauty that counts most.

What is your favourite destination in SA?

Most definitely Richards bay in KZN; its weather got me attracted to it. Ooh! Not forgetting Potchefstroom, I love its atmosphere it’s chilled.

If you could change 3 things about you what would it be...?

I think one thing I would change is living in a house without any siblings, being the only child is not nice and if it was possible to order siblings on an online store or go to the nearest super market to buy them I would have done that a long time ago. But other than that, i wouldn’t want to change anything because I'm living my life the way I want to live it and I'm happy.

In your Modelling Career journey, what is your highlight?

My very first national pageant, Miss Royal beauty 2015 held in Pretoria North.

What did you learn from that experience?

What I’ve learnt is always keep an open mind to learn new things. And i also learnt that if you really love something and you gotta persevere.

Any charity activity

So far I’ve done a charity event when i was still a Face of Mahikeng Finalist at Kagontle child care centre and the SPCA Mahikeng, n there are still more to follow
