Easter revelers in Phola still talk fondly about “Slatan Tribute”
With the Easter come and gone Phola was a buzz. I’m actually still amazed that when i met most revels who were coming back from holidays in and around Phola, that they were still reminiscing about the biggest bash in Phola, the Slatan tribute.
Slatan Tribute entered its 4th annual year this year, held in Boikhutso, my home town, and it is organized by a crew of loyal buddies and brother of the late popular loved local djs, well known as Dj Slatan.
Many describe Dj Slatan, whose real name was Penah Mosebekoa, as humble and friendly and mostly as music fantastic. Although Dj Slatan joined his ancestors five years ago, he still has huge positive grace in the hearts of youth in Phola.
The pre-bash were held at Norkies , a nice chilled spot in Boikhutso that one can describe as an ideal for a picnic or braai and relaxing with friends and family while enjoying great music.
Movers and shakers, fashion lovers and dancers were kept on their toes on the main event/bash on Saturday night by well-known local djs including Dj Tommy-T, Phat K, Bamaba, Muda, Gizzy and many more. The roof of Lichtenburg Town Hall was on fire.Cycles were getting bigger as the night climax
The three night bash ended in style and bit of kasi class-nyana at the newly local pub, La Vida Lounge. Here people were just chilling on couches sipping wines and whiskeys, playing pool while others were having good conversations on balcony with new and old buddies. It is with such events that bring Phola people as one, to release stress and have fun. Of course what will a party be without good memories, pictures.
